Man bear sprayed after telling youths to quiet down

A man was attacked with bear spray in the early hours of Monday morning after telling a group of youth across the street to pipe down.

Prince Albert police were dispatched to the 400 block of 23rd Street East at 2:10 a.m. after receiving a complaint of an assault with a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers found a 38-year-old man who had been the victim of a bear spray attack.

The man told police there had had been a group of youth making noise in a schoolyard across the street. When he walked over to ask them to quiet down, someone sprayed him in the face with bear spray.

Parkland Ambulance were also on hand and treated the victim at the scene.

The victim was unable to provide a description of his attacker and the matter remains under investigation.
