Serious motor vehicle collision near Shellbrook puts four in hospital

Four people are at Victoria Hospital on Monday evening following a two-pickup truck motor vehicle collision near Shellbrook.


Shellbrook RCMP are currently investigating the incident, which took place at the intersection of Highway 3 at Holbein and highway 693.

According to the Shellbrook RCMP, a red Dodge pickup truck was eastbound on Highway 3 when a southbound blue GMC pickup truck proceed through the intersection and into the path of the Dodge. The Dodge collided with the GMC, hitting it on the passenger side.

The Dodge ended up on its roof in the ditch and the GMC ended up sheared in half.

Two male occupants of the Dodge and the male driver and female passenger of the GMC were taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital with undetermined injuries.

A collision analyst was reportedly en route to the scene at 6:45 p.m. on Monday and was expected to investigate the site that evening with Shellbrook RCMP members.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing, with no further details known at press time.
