The gig was something of a practice, team manager Marlene Bear said, noting that the travelling dancers have a busy summer ahead of them.

Next stop will be a competition in Fort McKay, Alberta, this week, followed by a showcase in Batoche.

Employing various dance techniques, including square dance and jigging, the well-dressed group of dancers is made up of both local area teenagers and youth from northern communities.
