Charges laid after police seize crack, cash in vehicle search

Three men are facing trafficking-related charges after police seized drugs, cash and paraphernalia in a vehicle search early on Saturday.

Patrol members carried out a vehicle stop in the 1400 block of Eighth Avenue West at 12:56 a.m. Police observed drug paraphernalia on the floor of the vehicle and subsequently detained its three occupants in regards to a drug investigation.

A vehicle search uncovered 5.8 grams of crack cocaine, 12 milligrams of hydro morph contin, Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia consistent with trafficking.

The cocaine was packaged in various weight categories, ranging from grams to half grams.

Police have charged three men -- aged 42, 43 and 28 -- with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds obtained by crime. The 43-year-old man has also been charged with breach of probation.

All three are scheduled to make their first court appearance on Thursday, July 3 at 1:30 p.m. in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
