If you’re ailing today, the Victoria Hospital’s emergency room is likely the last place you want to be.

The Prince Albert Parkland Health Region said on Wednesday morning that the hospital was “currently overcapacity on inpatient units,” meaning too many people were waiting for treatment. The most serious cases are treated first so long waits could be the result for people with less pressing issues.

As a result, the health region is urging anyone with non-emergency or non-urgent health care concerns to contact their family doctor or go to one of the walk-in clinics in Prince Albert.
