A longtime Prince Albert school board member has been named president of the National Canadian Catholic School Trustees Association.
Mike St. Amand, the board vice-chair of the Prince Albert Catholic School Division, was acclaimed to the position last Saturday at the Canadian Catholic School Trustees Association Annual General Meeting in Kingston, Ont.
St. Amand had previously served as vice president of the organization. He was first elected to the executive in 2012.
The national organization was formed in 1960. It represents 80 school boards and more than 750,000 students in nearly 2,000 schools across Canada.
