Stabbing follows house party

Police are investigating a stabbing that took place on Saturday after a house party in which the victim and his attackers were in attendance.

Patrol members were dispatched to the 1300 block of 17th Street West at 4:27 a.m. for a weapons complaint.

After arriving on the scene, police discovered a 39-year-old man who had been stabbed. Parkland Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Victoria Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

The victim told police he had been at a house party and left on foot when his assailants, who were also at the house, approached him. The victim was unable to provide a description of the assailants.

The matter remains under investigation. Police do not believe the attack was random.

    I am so sick of this. Every weekend, someone is assaulted, stabbed or beaten up at a party but they they don't know who it was. Right- give me a break.
