Members of the public are invited to attend an open house and barbecue at Hope’s Home on Saturday.

Aside from marking the one-year anniversary of Hope’s Home, the event will represent the grand opening of the centre’s new spaces, which have more than doubled from 40 to 90.

The open house and barbecue will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the backyard at Hope’s Home, located at 550 First Ave. E.

Guests will also be able to tour the expanded centre -- which includes new facilities such as a respite room that offers evening care for children with medical needs – as well as learning about various programs and meeting staff members.

Various dignitaries will be in attendance at the charity barbecue, including representatives of the Ministry of Education.

Guests will also be able to buy a hotdog, pop and dessert for $2.
