City police followed their noses to a marijuana trafficking bust on Tuesday.

Marijuana bust

At about 5 p.m., members were conducting a traffic stop in response to a complaint that the occupants were trafficking marijuana, a police press release reads.

Smelling a “strong odour of marijuana coming from the car” police arrested two men from the vehicle, which was pulled over in the Macarthur Drive area of Prince Albert.

A search of the vehicle revealed more than 94 grams of marijuana, Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia consistent with trafficking.

Drugs seized are estimated to have a street value of about $900.

An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man have both been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and the possession of proceeds obtained by crime.

Both suspects will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on June 3 at 1:30 p.m.
