Prince Albert Provincial Court

A man facing two animal cruelty charges will enter a plea early next month.

Following an appearance by the accused at Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday, the judge adjourned the case to Tuesday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m., when the accused is scheduled to enter his plea.

The Prince Albert SPCA received a call in June 2013 related to an alleged act of animal cruelty in which it was reported that a dog had died.

An investigation by Animal Protection Officers led them to forward their findings to the RCMP, who subsequently laid charges.

Ryan Funk has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal under the Criminal Code of Canada and causing an animal to be in distress under the Animal Protection Act.
