Two charged with assault following stabbing complaint

Two people have been charged with aggravated assault following complaints of a stabbing at 1:49 a.m. on April 9.


A 25-year-old female and a 24-year-old male were charged after an incident in the Unit Block of River Street West.  An 18-year-old female victim was transported to Victoria Hospital with non-life threatening wounds to her head.

Both suspects allegedly left the area in a vehicle and were located in the 1500 block of 16th Street West.  The male suspect was taken into custody with the help of a police dog after fleeing the residence on foot.

The male suspect has also been charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance.  Police say the incident is still under investigation.

    Considering the time of this event, it is highly likely that neither of these two people work. So- after they spend some time in jail, they should be refused social assistance PERIOD.
