Stabbing victim and suspect knew each other: Police

The victim and suspect in a stabbing that took place early Saturday morning knew each other, police say.

Police initially went to a residence in the 600 block of 28th Street West at approximately 5:21 a.m. after receiving a complaint of a male who had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers found a 27-year-old man who had sustained a non-life threatening stab wound to his chest. Parkland Ambulance treated him at the scene before transporting him to the Victoria Hospital.

A 38-year-old male suspect was identified, arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The suspect and victim are known to one another.
