A 19-year-old man faces several charges after a shooting in Prince Albert early Thursday.

Police received an early morning call to come to a home in the 400 block of 28th Street East, where they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Parkland Ambulance responded at 1:57 a.m., taking the woman by ambulance to Victoria Hospital with serious injuries.

In a release, police said they believe the shooting was not random and may have been drug related.

On Thursday, police arrested a man, who was officially charged in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Friday morning.

Cameron Morin, 19, faces charges of aggravated assault, two counts of intent to wound by discharging a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited from doing so by court order and two counts of breach of recognizance.

The investigation continues.
