After a sharp-eyed local police officer spotted a prohibited driver on Thursday, two people are facing drug charges.
Prince Albert Police Service officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 1600 block of 12th Avenue West with a known prohibited driver behind the wheel.
The driver managed to get away and left the vehicle on foot with his female passenger. They were quickly found in a nearby residence and arrested.
It turned out the vehicle had been stolen in Saskatoon and that the suspects had methamphetamine worth about $1,000 on the street, some marijuana and some Canadian money.
Darryld Lakner, 40, is charged with possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marihuana, possession of property obtained by crime, breach of probation and driving while prohibited.
Cheryl Sanderson, 33, is charged with possession of stolen property, trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of property obtained by crime.
Both have appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
