Public intoxication accounts for two-thirds of weekend arrests

Approximately two thirds of arrests in Prince Albert over the weekend were related to public intoxication.

Between Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at noon, the Prince Albert Police Service responded to approximately 169 calls for service.

A total of 64 people were taken into police custody, with 41 of those arrests related to being intoxicated in a public place.

The bulk of calls over the weekend were for intoxicated individuals, disturbances and eviction complaints.

    That does not surprise me, we were on Marquis Rd and vicinity yesterday. I counted at least 6 beer cases. Every weekend you see the same. It is scary that people are drinking and driving.
