With spring around the corner and more pedestrians walking the streets, Parkland Ambulance have issued a range of safety tips.

Parents should remind their children of simple rules such as crossing at the corner, looking both ways before crossing and always waiting for traffic to stop. Children should never assume that the driver will see them.

When it comes to driving children to school, parents should always drop their children off along the school side of the street in a busy school zone.

Adult pedestrians should also follow make sure to slow down and give themselves a few extra minutes to reach their destinations in the face of persistent icy sidewalks and streets.
