The Prince Albert Police Service is reminding the public that driving snowmobiles within city limits can result in fines.

The reminder comes in response to snowmobiles that have been observed gassing up at the Co-op gas station on Marquis Drive.

Bylaw No. 11 of 2007 prohibits the operation of all-terrain vehicles or snowmobiles on streets, highways, public places or any Crown land situated within the city of Prince Albert.

Violation of the bylaw can result in a $100 fine plus $50 victim surcharge. A peace officer may seize any motor vehicle that he or she has grounds to believe is being operated in contravention of the bylaw.

No snowmobiles are allowed in Little Red River Park, which falls within city limits.
