Left for dead, three puppies were found abandoned in a box on the side of Highway 2, just north of Prince Albert.

The pups were found “dirty, hungry and full of lice,” according to the Prince Albert SPCA, where the puppies were brought.

On Monday afternoon, director of operations Leanne Roberts said that while the puppies don’t show any obvious signs of abuse, they're unsociable.

All three pups will be sent to the Saskatoon Dog Rescue on Tuesday where they will receive the socialization they need prior to being placed into foster homes.

Thank you for reporting this story, I hope it will makes people think before getting a pet or as a pet owner that there are responsibilities to having a pet in the family and dumping them on the side of the road to freeze to death is not acceptable in our society!!! I hope more people are caught and charged for these crimes!
