A police investigation into a Saturday morning family dispute eventually turned into a full-fledged pursuit that resulted in charges being laid.
Police responded to the 800 block of 16th Street West at approximately 3:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a family dispute. Upon arrival they learned that the accused had left the residence just prior to the patrol’s arrival.
With the accused reported to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance, family members asked police to follow him to ensure his well-being.
Police located the accused heading westbound in his vehicle. They attempted to stop the vehicle, which did not stop until it hit a snowbank.
At that point, the accused fled the vehicle on foot. Following a short foot chase, he then struggled with police in an effort to resist arrest.
A 32-year-old male is now facing charges of criminal flight for attempting to evade police while being stopped in a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
