The Prince Albert Parkland Health Region has put in visitor restrictions at the Golden Hill Long Term Care Unit at Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert following an outbreak of a gastrointestinal illness.

The three residents showing symptoms have been isolated and signage is in place to inform staff and visitors that an outbreak is in effect. No staff members are ill.

Visitors are being asked to reschedule their visits until the outbreaks is over. For urgent or compassionate reasons, visitors can report to the nursing station to receive instructions on how to limit exposure and the risk of transmission.

The cause of the outbreak has not yet been identified and samples are being collected for analysis.
