The Battlefords Rural RCMP detachment has laid charges against a Prince Albert man in relation to a series of indecent assaults dating back to 1964.
Charges were laid following a lengthy investigation. The incidents are alleged to have occurred at the Moosomin First Nation Day School, which no longer exists. The school was band-operated and not a residential school.
A plea has yet to be entered in the case, which is currently before the provincial court in North Battleford. The court will next hear the case on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Morris Hryniuk of Prince Albert has been charged with eight counts of indecent assault.
