No charges laid after girl, 8, struck by vehicle

A motorist who struck an eight-year-old girl on Monday morning will not face charges, police report.

A police representative confirmed that the operator of the vehicle was deemed not at fault after it was determined that the girl had run into traffic.

Parkland Ambulance Paramedics responded at approximately 8:51 a.m. after receiving a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 12th Avenue and 13th Street West.

Paramedics treated the eight-year-old female pedestrian for minor injuries before transporting her to hospital in good condition for further care.
