Robbery suspects apprehended

Police have arrested two robbery suspects following a scuffle with the alleged victims.

Officers initially responded at approximately 8 a.m. in the 3400 block of Second Avenue West after receiving a report of a robbery.

Police located the two robbery victims, who informed police that they were walking north on Second Avenue when a male and female approached them and allegedly offered to sell them drugs.

After they refused to buy drugs from the couple, the accused female grabbed the purse of the other female and a scuffle ensued. The assailants stole a cellphone and other personal property during the altercation.

Shortly thereafter, police found the two suspects and took them both into custody.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with robbery with violence, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of probation.

A 20-year-old woman has been charged with robbery with violence, theft under $5,000, uttering threats and breach of probation.
