An area man now faces first degree murder charges following the death of his son.

Terry McDougald, 45, was shot dead in late October at his father’s farm during a dispute that also involved two other men.

Larry McDougald, 66, who lives just north of Prince Albert, had his charge upgraded in court on Friday. He also faces new gun charges.

In his next court appearance, McDougald must decide whether he'll be tried by a jury or judge alone.
