Christmas lights coming down

City crews were seen removing Christmas decorations from downtown Prince Albert on Thursday.

With a Jan. 10 deadline to remove Christmas light pole decorations, warm temperatures came in the nick of time on Thursday, during which the temperature hovered around the -10 C mark.

While residents de-Christmas their homes, the city is reminding the public of their Chrismtas tree drop-off location, where trees can be dumped free of charge.

The drop-off is located at the Riverbank and Third Avenue East.

in other downtown Christmas news, the results of the Prince Albert Downtown Improvement Association's Christmas window display contest are in, with Jax Antiques taking first place.

The contest had businesses decorate their front windows in a Christmas theme throughout December.

Other winners were Propaganda, Jam Street Music Sessions, Inspired Books Art Therapy and the Bison Café, Lux Clothing and St. John Ambulance.
