Friday night’s Toque Collection Night turned up 300 pieces of clothing, including coats, mittens and toques.

Organized by Parkland Ambulance, the collection took place at Friday’s Raiders, where bins were set up for the collection.

At 300 pieces, this year’s total is nearly double last year’s effort, director of public affairs Lyle Karasiuk said in a release.

“We were amazed to see people coming with bags into the Art Hauser Rink. One lady was spotted dragging three bags of stuff, which included coats, mittens, and toques,” Karasiuk reports. “Thank you so much everyone for your generosity.”

Those who would still like to make a donation can still do so at either Parkland Ambulance location -- one on 13th Street East and the other on Second Avenue West -- Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Geographic location: 13th Street East
