A woman is facing charges after attempting to break the windows of an ex-partner’s residence with a broom and swinging it at police.

Police initially responded at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday to a residence in the 400 block of 19th Street West after receiving a report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 21-year-old female attempting to smash a window out of the residence with a broom, having already broken three other windows.

The accused had previously been in a relationship with the owner of the residence, and she is currently on an undertaking for an alleged assault on the homeowner in August.

The woman refused to comply with the commands of the officers and began to swing her broom at them.

She was eventually taken into custody and is now facing charges of mischief, assaulting a police officer and five counts of breach of an undertaking.

I hope she didn't break her broom. She probably needed it to fly home.
