PAPS respond to assaults, intoxicated persons

The Prince Albert Police Service responded to 135 calls from Friday at 6 p.m. until Sunday at noon. During the weekend, 35 people were taken into custody, 22 of those arrests for being intoxicated in a public place. The majority of the calls were for intoxicated persons, disturbances, and report of false alarm complaints.

Out of the calls police responded to, one of note was:

• On Sunday at 3:13 a.m. police responded to a complaint of an assault in Bowerman Crescent area. The investigation revealed that a 31-year-old woman was assaulted. Officers patrolled the area and located man allegedly responsible. The 28-year-old man was arrested and is now facing several criminal code charges. He will appear in provincial court on Monday.
