This year’s 24th Annual Canadian Cancer Society Jail-N-Bail fundraiser raised $21,374 on Thursday – proceeds that will go toward helping in the fight against cancer.
In a release issued Thursday evening, Canadian Cancer Society’s Prince Albert unit manager Charlene Bernard made special note of thanking the many volunteers who helped make the annual event a success.
“A big thanks to each and every volunteer,” she wrote. “Your hard work and dedication make it all happen.”
The annual event was held in the Gateway Mall, and saw a number of people ceremoniously arrested and put in jail where they were put to work raising money.
This year’s arrestees were pharmacists – Bernie Ogrodnick, Betty MacDonald, Garry Guedo and Roses Stewart. Between the four of them, $6,200 was raised.
