A man is facing charges after police found him with a stolen cash register following a robbery on Sunday at a local business.
Police received a report early in the morning of a male that had entered a business in the 3200 block of Second Avenue West. The man was armed with a knife and demanded cash from an employee, according to witnesses.
The man ended up grabbing the entire cash register and fleeing the scene. A witness told police he saw the man enter an apartment building in the 400 block of 28th Street West.
With the aid of a K-9 unit, police located the accused on the third floor of the building with the cash register and a knife still in his pocket, at which point they took him into custody.
Tyler Keenatch, 19, has been charged with robbery and breach of an undertaking. He appeared in provincial court on Tuesday morning.
