A youth has been charged following an extended police chase in a stolen vehicle early Friday morning.
Prince Albert police received a report just after 2 a.m. of a stolen vehicle from a residence on the west side of the city.
Shortly after the report came in, patrol members spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it. Police then initiated a criminal pursuit that went from the west side to the east side of the city.
The pursuit came to an end in the 2100 block of 15th Avenue East, where a tire deflation device was used on the vehicle. Police found that the operator and lone occupant of the vehicle was a 14-year-old female.
The youth has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop for police while being pursued.
She was scheduled to make her first appearance in provincial youth court later on Friday.
