Protesting abortion in Canada, the annual Prayer Chain was held along Second Avenue West on Sunday afternoon.
The event consisted of a few blocks of people lined up with signs reading “Abortion Hurts Woman” and “Abortion Kills Children” -- the same signs they share every year at about this time.
The “pro-life” activists (or “anti-freedom of choice” depending one one’s beliefs) use the annual event to raise awareness regarding abortion, which in Canada is legal to nine months, although abortions after 20 weeks gestation is extremely rare, at fewer than one per cent of abortions performed.
