An evacuation order has been lifted allowing families displaced by the Nisbet fire, just north of Prince Albert, to return home.

“We felt it was appropriate to lift the evacuation order,” said Larry Fladager, reeve of the RM of Buckland,

The fire management team met late Wednesday afternoon and after looking at conditions decided to allow people to return home. About 50 people were displaced by the blaze, which covered 298 hectares.

Access is being restricted by police officers and only home and small business owners are being allowed into the area as fire operations are ongoing, Fladager said.
