The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Prince Albert received a big boost this weekend.

Malcolm Jenkins said he would match donations up to $500,000 raised through the relay. Jenkins’ donation is in honour of his late wife Melba, who survived cancer since 2003, but succumbed to the illness in late March.

“I was speechless, which is rare for me,” said Laurie Dent, Prince Albert’s unit manager of the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Malcolm is giving really giving Prince Albert the opportunity to fight back against cancer.”
