NASHVILLE, Tenn. - More than 50,000 college football fans are expected to visit downtown Nashville on Monday for the Music City Bowl game between Vanderbilt University and North Carolina State.

Police are encouraging residents and commuters to take alternative routes and be aware of road closures on Monday morning and afternoon.

Woodland Street Bridge will be closed to traffic starting at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. The Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge will be open until the beginning of the 4th quarter when it will be restricted to westbound traffic only.

Downtown commuters are encouraged to use the Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, Church Street or Broadway interchanges.

In addition, several street closures in downtown Nashville will occur on Monday evening for the New Year's Eve Bash.
