LAS VEGAS, Nev. - A Japanese celebrity chef with restaurants in Beverly Hills, New York and London added "hotelier" to his title Monday with launch of the world's first Nobu Hotel Restaurant and Lounge.

The 181-room boutique hotel inside Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip opened its doors Monday. Chef Nobu Matsuhisa is launching the venture with movie star Robert De Niro, his longtime U.S. business partner.

General manager Gigi Vega said the hotel's Range Rover SUV has been shuttling guests from the airport all day.

Following a trend on the Las Vegas Strip, the new hotel is opening in an existing building, Caesars' forty-year old Centurion Tower.

The hotel will feature curbside check-in, the world's largest Nobu Restaurant, and a room service menu prepared by the famous chef.
