It appears the on-again, off-again relationship between Canadian electronic producer Deadmau5 and reality TV personality/tattoo artist Kat Von D is about to get serious.

The mouse-eared Niagara Falls, Ont.-native publicly posted a photo of a custom-made diamond ring — adorned with two skulls surrounding the jewel — on Twitter, along with a message for the TV star.

"I can't wait for Christmas so.... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?" he tweeted.

A few minutes later, he sent another tweet with a couple of expletives and the statement "I'm engaged and stuff!"

In late September, Deadmau5 — whose real name is Joel Zimmerman — shared photos of the couple and wrote, "Yeah, I'm (in) love."

But less than a month later, the pair both tweeted that they'd broken up.

"Going to spend a little while screwing my head back on. I guess I'm not cut out for relationships right now.... I'll figure it out. No hard feelings."

Von D tweeted: "Man.. Can't say I didn't give it my best. Man, I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off."

Von D, star of the show "LA Ink," made headlines for previous relationships with Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx and fellow reality TV star Jesse James, who had been married to Sandra Bullock before they got together. Von D and James got engaged early last year, announced they'd split up months later, gave it another try a few weeks later, and then broke up again for good.
