KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Two Civil War exhibitions will be on display at the Museum of East Tennessee History in Knoxville commemorating the 150th anniversary of the war.

The Tennessee Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission's official travelling exhibition, called "Common People in Uncommon Times," will be on display at the museum through Jan. 13. It will be accompanied by another exhibit, called "In Death Not Divided: Civil War Tombstones and the Stories They Tell."

The travelling exhibit presents a pictorial narrative of a diverse array of personalities — including Confederate soldiers, Union sympathizers, African-Americans and gallant women — during the Civil War.

The gravestone exhibit features histories of the national cemeteries in the region and attempts to recover the remains of veterans for proper burial.
