A man was arrested early on Wednesday after being found in breach of his probation during a police vehicle check.
Officers were conducting a vehicle check in the 400 block of 28th Street West at 4:55 a.m. Since the driver of the vehicle only had a learner’s permit, police checked the other occupants for identification. One intoxicated occupant was found to be on probation with a condition of no alcohol.
Police arrested the suspect and a subsequent search revealed him to be in possession of a semi-full bottle of alcohol and a large spiked weapon.
Clyde Herbert Kenneth Black, 27, of Prince Albert has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of breach of probation. He was remanded into custody and made his first appearance in provincial court on March 7.
