A 34-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle, while lying on the highway early Sunday morning.

Paramedics responded to a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle on Highway 2 at 5:46 a.m. The man had critical injuries and was transported to the hospital, but died of his injuries.

The collision happened on Highway 2, one kilometre south of Christopher Lake.

The highway was closed for the majority of Sunday morning as investigators were looking over the scene. At 11:15 a.m. RCMP informed the public that the highway was open again.

The man is from Air Ronge, however the RCMP is not releasing names are not until the next of kin are notified. RCMP has not released any other details of the collision.
