Assaults keep paramedics on their toes

Several assaults were among the 58 calls that Parkland Ambulance responded to between Friday evening and Sunday at noon.

• Minor injuries were reported as a result of an assault at the 900 block of Central Avenue at about 9 p.m. on Saturday. Paramedics cared for a six-year-old boy for minor injuries, who was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital for further care and treatment.

• An assault in the 1200 block of 13th Street West resulted in an 18-year-old woman having minor injuries cared for by paramedics, who also brought her to Victoria Hospital for further care. The incident took place at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

• Assaulted at about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, a 51-year-old man was treated for minor injuries and taken to Victoria Hospital for further care. The incident took place at the 3800 block of Second Avenue West.

• Minor injuries were reported in a Sturgeon Lake Reserve assault shortly after midnight on Saturday, with an 18-year-old man treated by paramedics and brought to Victoria Hospital.

• A man, 20, was treated for minor injuries following a single vehicle collision near the airport just before 10 a.m. on Sunday.
