Woman charged after alleged hit-and-run

A 24-year-old Prince Albert woman was arrested on Saturday after her alleged involvement in a hit-and-run vehicle accident.

Police were dispatched at 2:35 a.m. to the intersection of 22nd Street and Second Avenue West, where a vehicle had allegedly rear-ended another that was stopped in traffic attempting a turn before fleeing the area.

An independent witness had called police and trailed the offending vehicle to a residence in the 100 block of 24th Street East.

The female suspect was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and refusing to provide a breath sample. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to make her initial provincial court appearance on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m.
