Two men from Prince Albert were arrested Monday morning after police found illegal narcotics in the stolen car they were driving.

Prince Albert Police received a report at 7:30 a.m. of a stolen vehicle from the 1200 block of 18th Street West, where a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer had gone missing.

At 11:38 a.m. patrol members located the vehicle in the unit block of 15th Street East and arrested both the driver and passenger.

Officers first found cocaine in the passenger area. A subsequent search revealed the passenger to be in possession of an additional quantity of cocaine and hydro morphine pills.

The driver, a 21-year-old male, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and was released on an undertaking. He is scheduled to make his initial appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

The passenger, 39-year-old Francis Andrew Paul Ermine, has been charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance. He was remanded in custody and has made his first appearance in court. Remanded in custody again, he is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Jan. 17.
