A man showing signs of impairment was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly fleeing from the scene of a two-vehicle collision.

Prince Albert police were dispatched at 8:37 p.m. to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Fourth Street and 10th Avenue East. The complainant reported that the driver of a northbound vehicle on 10th Avenue had ignored a stop sign, hit the other vehicle and then fled on foot.

Officers located a 30-year-old Black Lake male matching the description of the suspect in the area who displayed visible signs of impairment and arrested him. The man had suffered minor injuries in the collision and was transported by ambulance to the Victoria Hospital for treatment before being released back into police custody.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck also received minor injuries, but was treated at the scene and did not require transport to hospital.

The suspect has been charged with impaired driving, exceeding .08, fail to remain, breach of probation and breach of conditional sentence. He was scheduled to make his first appearance in provincial court on Monday.
