Vehicle hits young female pedestrian

A young driver was attempting to turn left onto 15th Avenue East off Oliver Diefenbaker Drive on Monday at 3:42 p.m. when he struck a 14-year-old female pedestrian attempting to cross the street.

The girl sustained major injuries and was later treated and released from the Victoria Hospital.

The 18-year-old male driver has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
