Both southbound lanes of the Diefenbaker Bridge remain closed as repair work underneath the bridge deck continues.

Work crews are presently machining abutment bearings and plates, a job expected to reach completion by the end of the second week of October. At that point southbound lanes will be re-opened, but northbound lanes will then be closed for  roughly three weeks of repair work.

The city reminds overwidth load haulers to schedule an appointment with the Public Works Department at 953-4900 to register for morning crossings from Monday to Thursday scheduled for 10 a.m.
