Montreal Lake man charged with second degree murder

A Montreal Lake Cree Nation man is facing a second-degree murder charge after the death of another man earlier this week.

Forty-five-year-old Norman Casey Stamp, of Montreal Lake Cree Nation, died in a Saskatoon hospital on Monday after sustaining serious head injuries due to an early Saturday morning assault.

Eighteen-year-old Leo Jackson Smith has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

His first court appearance is July 31 in Prince Albert.

The incident remains under investigation.

Montreal Lake RCMP are seeking help in locating witnesses.
