Staff from Advantage Real Estate untied in the businessâs parking lot on Thursday for the companyâs ninth annual barbecue. This year, funds were raised for the YWCA Prince Albert.
The proceeds from this yearâs event will go to the YWCA. Funding for various needs at the Victoria Hospital has been raised in the past. On average, about $1,000-1,500 is raised each year.
âItâs just a worthy cause. They have a lot of initiatives that theyâre working on and they always need help,â Advantage realtor Kerry Swallow said about the companyâs selection of the YWCA.
Meals were slightly different to last year. Instead of beef on a bun, the company made hamburgers. The cost was $5 for a hamburger and a cold drink or coffee. Extra donations were also welcome.
âEverything thatâs raised today goes directly into client programming, and itâs because of events like the one Advantage put on today that weâre able to buy the adequate amount of food we need four our clients in our residential facilities,â YWCA Prince Albert Executive Director Donna Brooks said.
The locally owned company runs a team of 12 professionals in house and serves many surrounding communities.
âWe have a huge area that we serve, and weâre just proud and feel privileged to be able to contribute back into all the communities,â Swallow said.
