Staff from Advantage Real Estate untied in the business’s parking lot on Thursday for the company’s ninth annual barbecue. This year, funds were raised for the YWCA Prince Albert.
The proceeds from this year’s event will go to the YWCA. Funding for various needs at the Victoria Hospital has been raised in the past. On average, about $1,000-1,500 is raised each year.
“It’s just a worthy cause. They have a lot of initiatives that they’re working on and they always need help,” Advantage realtor Kerry Swallow said about the company’s selection of the YWCA.
Meals were slightly different to last year. Instead of beef on a bun, the company made hamburgers. The cost was $5 for a hamburger and a cold drink or coffee. Extra donations were also welcome.
“Everything that’s raised today goes directly into client programming, and it’s because of events like the one Advantage put on today that we’re able to buy the adequate amount of food we need four our clients in our residential facilities,” YWCA Prince Albert Executive Director Donna Brooks said.
The locally owned company runs a team of 12 professionals in house and serves many surrounding communities.
“We have a huge area that we serve, and we’re just proud and feel privileged to be able to contribute back into all the communities,” Swallow said.
