Inmate escapes from Riverbend Institution

Prince Albert police officers are on the lookout for an excaped prisoner.

Terrance Michael Yew was discovered missing during the Riverbend Institution's 9:30 p.m. count on Friday evening.

The Correctional Service of Canada immediately contacted the Prince Albert Police Service and Royal Canadian Mounted Police and a warrant has Yew, 39, is described stands 180 cm (5' 11"), weighs 107 kilograms (236 lbs), has brown eyes and black hair, and has a small scar on his right cheek. He was serving a two-year, 10-month sentence for Operating A Motor Vehicle - Flight and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Disqualified.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Terrance Yew is asked to contact police.

Corrections officials will investigate the escape.
