On Friday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m., the E. A. Rawlinson Centre presents comedian, Chris Gibbs, who is well known in the Fringe Festival Circuit for his one-man shows.
Chris Gibbs presents his acclaimed show “Like Father Like Son? Sorry.” This show was first performed in the 2009 Toronto Fringe where it was the patrons’ choice and received rave reviews.
At the Edmonton Fringe it played to sold-out houses and was held over. Chris also performed an excerpt of the show at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival.

This is the time of year for music and dance festivals. On March 10 at 2 p.m., The Performing Arts Warehouse present “Stars on Stage” featuring 31 groups that are heading to competition in April.

The E. A. Rawlinson Centre’s annual showcase of youth talent, Search for the Stars, will take place on May 23. Auditions for Search for the Stars will take place on March 24.
Search for the Stars is a great opportunity for young performers who are between the ages of five and 18 years of age who do any type of performance art. From the audition approximately 20 acts will be selected by a panel of judges to go forward to perform at the final showcase.
At the end of the performance on May 23, a Novice Star, Junior Star, Senior Star and Songwriter of the Year will be named. The prize package includes; $100 cash prize for the Novice Star, $500 cash prize for the Junior Star, $1,000 cash for the Senior Star, $500 cash prize for the songwriter of the year.
If the songwriter of the year achieves a minimum pre-determined score, they are also given the opportunity to record a radio-quality CD of their song (up to $2,000 value). This prize is made possible by the generous support of recording sponsor Big Drum Media. Registration for Search for the Stars continues until noon on March 22.
